The recent cool temperatures have begun to drive SNC students into their sweaters and jackets, but they have also made some students crave the fall atmosphere that many look forward to each year. On Oct.16, SNC’s annual fallFEST was ready to provide the necessary post-summer pick-me-up in the Campus Center.
The week leading up to fallFEST was St. Norbert College’s Heritage Week, an appreciation of the school’s history from its beginnings in 1898. FallFEST has become a staple in Heritage Week and in helping to celebrate SNC’s birthday.
Once inside the Campus Center, those who attended the event received an envelope full of tickets for everything an autumn enthusiast could want. With caramel apples, pumpkin painting, games and a break from the cold weather, fallFEST had it all. Live music from the Human iPod set the scene for the event, creating a calm, fun mood for the evening.
In one part of the room there were several games to play run by different SNC organizations. Winning these games earned players tickets that they could enter in a raffle for several different gift card prizes. Another section of the event held pumpkin painting supplies, where many students spent time adding fun details to their tiny pumpkins. Near that was a photo booth with lots of props and a steady line of eager students.
All these activities, along with a great deal of delicious food like pizza, Zesty’s custard and caramel apples, certainly made this a fun fall Friday.
Samm Dick ’19 was one of the many people in attendance at the event. “The Human iPod was cool and the photo booth was fun,” she said. “fallFEST was really well done.”
Maddie Wenc ’19 seemed to enjoy the event as well. “I could have spent a lot longer than I did playing games and painting pumpkins. It was very fun!”
