Every year, St. Norbert College hosts SNC days consisting of many fun activities for families, students and members of the community. This year, SNC day will be held on Saturday, Sept.17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The list of this year’s activities is extensive , including everything from boat rides, wellness activities, three stages of live music, multiple food trucks, cooking demonstrations, art markets, lectures and a new spin on Pokémon Go, named cleverly Norby Go as well as many more. Norby Go is a digital treasure hunt that will span across campus.
But no need to worry all you seasoned SNC Day veterans; the horse drawn carriage tours, trolleys and Segways will make a return.
The Don Schneider Memorial Run is also being held the morning of SNC Day at 9:30 a.m., starting on Third Street in front of Mulva Library. SNC art students designed the t-shirts that will be given to the race participants, and medals will be presented to the winners of the age divisions.
Schneider Stadium will host a Field Day Sports Synergy Performance that will include inflatable soccer and cross fit activities. Air Force Gymnastics, SNC athletic teams and lots of wellness activities will also be held at the stadium, including Qigong, Zumba, yoga, Jazzercise and hula hooping.
The day will be filled with family fun activities to keep families, students and members of the community entertained and busy for the whole day.
A new addition to this year’s SNC Day is the tiny house students might have seen sitting in front of the Bush Art Center. This miniature house is part of the “Shelter and Clothing; Rethinking How We Live Today” exhibit; and tours of the tiny house will be offered. The Bush Art Center will also offer sustainable fashion and boot-making workshops.
Of course without volunteers to help throughout the day, this event could not be possible, and their help is always appreciated and welcome. If you are interested in volunteering for SNC or for more information about SNC Day, visit http://www.snc.edu/sncday/events.html.
