On Saturday, St. Norbert College dashed to a perfect 15 score and the team title at the Lawrence University Gene Davis Invitational. Green Knights dominated the individual standings with the top 11 runners overall with Senior Erin Artz leading the pack and finishing first with a time of 21:48.
Artz’s time set a new course record and was quickly followed by Brittany Kozlowski who finished second at 23:01. Freshman Taylor Domro ran her way to 3rd and also being named the Midwest Conference Women’s Cross Country Performer of the Week. Next came Clarissa Jauregui with a time of 23:29 and was shadowed by Sarah Parbs, Haley Joosten, and Alyssa Wegner.
No other team could keep pace with St. Norbert as the runner-up, Lawrence, had only 57 points. The team’s perfect score is their best since 2002, when they received a 21 at the Ripon College Invitational. This year, the Green Knights are no stranger to low scores as this is their third time getting a score of 25 or less.
The Green Knights were looking to ride this momentum into Saturday’s meet at UW Oshkosh. They faired well again finishing 4th out of 36 teams. Placing over 4 nationally ranked teams. Artz was once again on the podium, finishing 3rd with a time of 21:30.
Next up for the Knights is the Midwest Conference Championship hosted by Beloit College.
