Saturday, Nov. 12, starting at 9 a.m., Colleges Against Cancer will be hosting the Sixth Annual Run for Lungs 5k. The Run for Lungs is a five-kilometer course that can be either walked or run, this year at a new location starting at the St. Norbert College Campus Center. The 5k will consist of three laps around the St. Norbert campus. Run for Lungs is $20 for each runner, $15 for runners who are a part of a team and $10 for SNC runners. All proceeds will go to cancer research. Colleges Against Cancer is an on-campus organization dedicated to supporting the fight against cancer. The club’s two main events each year are the Run for Lungs 5k in the fall and Relay for Life in the spring. All proceeds the club raises go to the American Cancer Association in an effort to get one step closer to finding cures for cancer.
Tickets for the run can be purchased on the SNC website or the morning of the run at the registration table. Runners will each receive a t-shirt, free food and one raffle ticket to enter for multiple raffle prizes. Not only will participants be getting in a good morning exercise, but they will also be helping to fund more cancer research at the American Cancer Association. So get up, get out and help Colleges Against Cancer fundraise for a cure, one step at a time!
