St. Norbert Men’s and Women’s Cross Country headed to Augustana College and both took home a sixth place finish overall with a total of 169 points for the men and 180 points for the women.
The men’s team took sixth out of twenty-two teams with Simpson college winning the title with 41 points and Bethel (Ind.) College coming in second place with a finish of 126 points. Freshman Joe Gasick took a 23rd overall finish with a time of 22:30.7 which helped lead St Norbert’s to their sixth place finish. While Gasick took a 23rd place finish, both Sophomore Matt Holloway and Sophomore Jacob Dickman did not fall far behind. Holloway took a 24th place finish with a time of 22:32.2 and Dickman finished with a time of 22:38.2 for a 28th place finish overall. As the race went on, Senior Andrew Lemay finished with a time of 23:12 which landed 50th place. Sophomore Matt McKendry was not far behind Lemay as he finished 62nd with an overall time of 23:32.5. Junior Ben Behling also finished 75th with a time 23:45.7. As the race began to come to an end, Freshman Ethan Sowl ended with a time of 24:26.8.
The women’s cross country team on the other hand took a sixth place finish out of seventeen teams with UW-Stevens Point coming in first with 78 points. With a 21st place
finish, Junior Gretchen Price led St. Norbert with a time of 20:10.2. Junior Kelly Heniff followed three seconds after Price with a 25th finish overall with a time of 20:13. Only a couple places behind Price and Heniff, Senior Tori Nelsen ran for a finish of 20:27.5 giving her an overall place of 35th. Sophomore Hailey Ruplinger and Junior Alyssa Wegner, finishing 53rd and 55th with times of 20:52.9 and 20:53.9 helped lead the women’s team to their sixth place finish. As the race continued, both Freshman Morgan McClone and Junior Mckenna Egnarski finished with a time of 21:27.8 giving McClone a 80th place finish and Egnarski a 81st finish.
