St. Norbert Women’s Golf shot their way to a program-best second-place finish at the Midwest Conference Championship.
Coming off a good showing in Stevens Point, St. Norbert travelled to Rockford, Ill. to compete in the Midwest Conference Championship. The three-day event resulted in St. Norbert shooting an impressive total score of 1,051 out of 54 holes, giving them a second-place finish behind Grinnell College. The second-place finish is the program’s best finish at the MWC Championship ever and broke its record score of 1,120 by 69 strokes.
St. Norbert was lead by Zjennai Vang ’20, who was fifth overall with a total score of 260. Fellow sophomore Amy Holzer ’20 was not far behind with a score of 265, giving her a ninth place finish. Kelsey Motto ’18 finished her season by shooting a score of 269, and Elizabeth Bobinski ’20 was one stroke behind with 270. Jessica Dyksterhouse ’18 finished in nineteenth place with a score of 275. Megan Lau ’19 rounded it out with a score of 280 and a twenty-second place finish.
St. Norbert’s Megan Lau also was awarded the Midwest Conference Elite 20 Award for the women’s golf championship for the second consecutive year. In addition, St. Norbert women’s golf head coach Susan Anstett was named Co-MWC Coach of the year.
