WASHINGTON— The American Association of University Women (AAUW) has awarded a grant to St. Norbert College for a project aimed at promoting women’s leadership.
The grant will enable St. Norbert College to continue its popular project Power Yak: Building Women’s Leadership in the Upper Midwest. The project pairs Greater Green Bay women leaders and female students to connect, learn from one another, enjoy camaraderie, and network. Networking topics include communication effectiveness, leadership secrets, and people management.
This is one of 11 Campus Action Project grants awarded by AAUW this year to students at colleges and universities across the country.
“We appreciate this work and the commitment and passion toward advancing equity for all,” said Kim Churches, the chief executive officer of AAUW. “This project will help address the fact that women are still not equally represented in positions of leadership.
“AAUW believes that initiatives like these help to bring about positive change to empower female leaders communities across the country. I look forward to seeing the impact these projects—and the students who are responsible for them – will have on our society in the years ahead.”
