Now that we’re a month into the new school year, many of us are frantically looking around for ways to save and make money. Being a college student brings about many expenses – not only are there tuition and bills to pay, but there is also everything from laundry to eating out with friends to unexpected expenses, as well. For students looking for an immediate job, on-campus without the requirement of a car or transportation to consider, look no further than student employment at St. Norbert! Many different offices are hiring students for the Fall ’16 semester, and spots typically tend to open up again later in the fall semester and start of the spring semester.

Campus Safety is currently accepting applications for a student assistant. The department is looking for students who can work in a team environment and are compassionate and professional. They also ask for applicants to have a genuine interest in making campus a better and safer place for all involved in the St. Norbert community. General duties would include working the welcome desk, driving the campus shuttle and working various events hosted by SNC.

There are also several different jobs currently available in Dining Services. This includes being a Dale’s team member, where duties would include taking food orders, handling transactions and performing general cleaning of the cafeteria. Dining Services is also looking for a kitchen assistant to work alongside the culinary team. As a kitchen assistant, a student would primarily work with recipe and food preparation, work the food stations in Ruth’s, wash dishes and engage in typical clean-up duties. Another position within the field of dining is that of a Ruth’s Marketplace food service team member. Duties for this position include set-up, service and clean-up of meal plan meals, dishwashing and daily take-down and set-up of the cafeteria stations, as well as being customer friendly and efficient at team communication. Most of the Dining Services positions offer positions for future advancement, as well as a wide range of hours.

St. Norbert is also looking for students to fulfill the position of a student Phonathon caller. The position grants paid training before starting your employment with the Advancement office. By working the Phonathon, students will contact alumni and college friends to ask for support and donations to St. Norbert. Hours are incredibly flexible around your school schedule, and working the phonathon offers student employees an exciting environment to work in, as well as a feeling of achievement for your contribution to the campus community.
